the girl & the fig is hiring a Host to join our team in Sonoma. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, staying organized in a fast-paced environment, and creating a welcoming first impression for guests.

We are part of a Sonoma-based restaurant group with multiple concepts, catering, and events. Our focus is on high-quality ingredients, thoughtful service, and providing a warm, engaging experience from arrival through departure.

As a Host at the girl & the fig, you’ll play a key role in managing the flow of the dining room while ensuring each guest feels welcomed and cared for. This position requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to stay composed during busy service periods.

Pay & Schedule

• $18.47/hour + tips
• Full-time and part-time positions available

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll support guest service and front-of-house operations throughout each shift, including:

• Greeting guests and managing the check-in process
• Seating guests efficiently and providing accurate wait time estimates
• Answering phones and assisting with guest inquiries
• Managing and confirming reservations
• Supporting the overall flow of the dining room
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entry, and lounge areas
• Assisting with retail or front-of-house presentation as needed

Required Experience & Skills

• Previous restaurant or customer service experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to stay organized and multitask in a busy environment
• Professional, friendly, and welcoming demeanor
• Ability to remain calm and solution-oriented during peak service

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods (majority of shift)
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
